This message is for Ken Van Gundy. Ken did I purchase a Bronze(originally Auqua Mist)68 442 from you in 1986 while stationed on Beale AFB Marysville/Yuba City? Want to see it completely restored? Enjoy hearing from you to get some more history on it.

I am looking to have a 1961 oldsmobile restored. I do not have the time to do it myself. I'm wondering if anybody knows a restoration shop in S.F. Bay area.

I have a 1951 Oldsmobile super 88 convertible that I'm currently restoring from the frame up. I'm looking for John Farris or Frank Gonzales that were Olsmobile club members around 1985. John and Frank are owners of 1951 Oldsmobile 88 convertibles. Does anybody know who rebuilds 1951 oldsmobile Hydramatic transmissions? Thanks Paul Admin reply: Paul, Several members have used Keith's Transmission in Castro Valley. As far as I'm concerned he does good work. I have a 55. Larry S

I SPOKE TO MR. SUTHERLAND AT THE CAR SHOW IN STOCKTON RE HIS 63 JETFIRE. HAVE HIM CHECK CRAIGSLIST UNDER OLDSMOBLE RIGHT NOW, AND HE WILL FIND A COMPLETE CAR FOR ABOUT $1500.00. THESE CARS DESERVE TO BE SAVED! I WILL JOIN THE CLUB SOON, AS I AM ABOUT TO START RESTO OF 68 442.

I love the site, and i may join the club i have a 1970 Olds Cutlass S 350 2 barrel-for now. I have a question to anyone who can answear it. Olds 350 production 5 heads were made between 68-69 on stock Cutlass and for the ram rod, and w31 so if i encounter a pair of heads that have a 5 on them with a casting number of 397742 does that mean it's a pair of W-31 heads with 2.00-/1.625-inch valves or just average 350 specs. My dad who use to be in your club David Maxwell said you host a swap meet in Vallejo and that i should wait for your next meet, will that happen some time this year or for 2009. Admin reply: Hi Lance, Thanks for writing. I will forward your question to some of our members that have cars of your year. I hope they can help you. That is what the nor cal olds club is about. Here is a web site that might be of interest to you in answering your question. http://www.442.com/ Also, if you are a member of the national Olds Club of America, you can access the expert advisors for specific model years. You will need to be a member of the OCA to join our local Northern California Oldsmobile Club. I got your message as I was heading out to the annual Micke Grove car show. The show yesterday would have been a great place for you to see the club in action. It was a great show. Happy Oldsmobiling,

I would like to purchase a 1964 Starfire convertible. Where do I find the engine number, and how do I read the number to determine if it is the correct 1964 394/345 h.p. Starfire engine? Possibly Mr. Sutherland who has the 1963 Cutlass Convertible has a factory shop manual that has that information in the front pages. I'd like to join your club if my Starfire plans work out. Admin reply: Congratulations on your impending purchase. Here are some places to start. Some web sites that may be helpful to you. http://www.outrightolds.com/1960-1979.shtml http://www.classicoldsmo bile.com/ http://members.aol.com/drewinva/olds/vin/ I hope these will get you a little further along your path. You are always welcome to join our club.
